Balakrishna Paniker (Peroorkada Balan Vaidyan) is the part of Travancore history, Even the members of Travancore Palace, famous saints, literate eminent came for his medical consultation and treatment. He was awarded “ Vaidyakalanidhi ” from Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma Maharaja for his outstanding treatments in Jaundice, Rabies, Arthritis, Chiken-pox, Measles, various skin diseases and Marma Chikitsa. Later he had lots of treatment histories and received valuable rewards from the Maharaja of Travancore.

Second generation of Balan Vaidyan

Vaidyakalanidhi Balan Vaidyan handed over the dispensary to his daughter Dr.Rajalakshmi BAM,Former Sr. Lecturer, Ayurveda College, Shornur. She got married to Dr. N. Viswanathan MD ( Ay ), S/o. Vaidyakalanidhi Vettikavala M K Narayanan Vaidyan. By his great support and guidance the dispensary has been renewed and provided the inpatient facility.In 2005,former Chief Minister K.Karunakaran inaugurated the dispensary as BVM Ayurvedic Nursing home with more facilities to in-patient and out-patient sections

Third generation

The third generation of vaidhyakalanidhi balan vaidhyan is DR. REMYA. V. R Assistant professor Dept. of Shalya Tantra Gov. Ayurveda College Thiruvananthapuram.At present BVM Ayurveda nursing home has been facilitated with guidance of professor DR.N.VISHWANATHAN MD (AY) and DR.RAJALAKSHMI (BAM).We are providing special treatment for ANO RECTAL DISEASES. Since 12 years we are successful practicing PARA SURGICAL PROCEDURES for Ano rectal diseases. Until now we had successfully treated more than 3000 cases
